January Class with Hata Sensei

Lessons for January 20, 2020: We had three lessons, all in text book 3. Even though these were repeated lessons, I thought it was a good way to improve myself by doing it differently each time. When I watched Sensei's demo, I said to myself why I didn't think about doing it that way?

Winter Cattleya and Cymbidium

Cattleyas, the royalty of the orchid family. The white and purple-lipped cattleyas have not bloomed for two years. The cymbidium have been more faithful--they bloom every year for me even if the environment hasn't been too good.

Orchids Bloom to Welcome the Year of 2020

My Cattleya orchids are usually blooming in the winter months. These orchids have been missing blooms for a couple years ever since we moved to this house. I am so surprised and happy that they are blooming this time. (December 31, 2019)
