I volunteered to host for Ikebana section was on Monday 3/4/2024, from 2:00 to 4:00 PM. Weather perfect, drawing a lot of people came to see the snow. It’s the nation’s largest and longest running horticultural event. The pictures post here only a few stunning, beautiful displays by the world’s premier floral, garden and landscape designers. I will be there again on Thursday night to set up my Ikebana arrangement for the third rotation, the last one.

Preparing for Philadelphia Flower Show
PHS Philadelphia Flower Show is coming up, starting from 3/2 to 3/10, 2024. I am glad I am in third rotation (3/8 to 3/10/2024), that give me a little bit break after our Main Line Branch exhibition at Art Museum. My arrangements for flower show will be a rather classic and traditional Ikebana design, (2 feet by 2 feet by 3 feet high pedestal). I might change some materials if I could find spring like flowers. After all, spring is in the air!

Leaf and Twig - Connecting between Art and Nature (1)
A special exhibition featuring 40 watercolors and drawings of Andrew Wyeth’s art works and displays of 15 Sogetsu Ikebana by Philadelphia Main Line Branch. The theme “Every Leaf and Twig”, connects art and nature. The event is being held at Brandywine Museum of Art, from 2/23 - 2/26, 2024.
We Main Line Branch members were there to set up on Friday 2/23, and finished before 10:00AM in time for the museum to open to the public. The arrangement of my materials were picked up from what nature could provide, except the sunflowers. My ceramic container was made by my Ikebana friend which suits my horizontal design (19” x 49” x36” platform). Note: What a wonderful place to show our members’ arrangements.
