Austria and Hungary Vacation and beyond
During my vacation trip to Europe recently (7/12-7/22/2012), besides the sightseeing tour, I saw many beautiful gardens and window box flowers that just take my breath away. I would like to share some "Ikebana like" pictures I saw in the hotels where I stayed. It surprised me that the flower arrangements were not all western style.

Glass Container and Impromptu Arrangement
In our June 19 class, we had two assignments: The first one is "Focusing on the use of glass container," which was resumed from last time's title. Second one is "Bring your own container, moribana or Nageire of your choice." Our teacher will provide materials for us, and we must arrange it and finish it within 25 minutes.
This was my third arrangement. The other two were done last time (6/5/2012) due to a canceled class. Material: Wax plant and Hydrangea
The materials given to me are Azalea, astilbe, mum and hosta. All students must finish their arrangements within 25 minutes. I would do it differently if I had more time.

June Orchids Bloom
Paph. "Shireen" I ignored this lady slipper and almost gave it away. Finally it is blooming after three years.
Encyclia "Green Hornet" This one is so reliable, its bloom seems to never end.
Phalanopsis 1
Phalanopsis 2
Last year I had many Phalanopsis bloom. This year I only have two. Perhaps since I don't use fertilizer or my time was more devoted to my Ikebana.
I received this at our award night in May.
