Free Style - Spring Arrangement

Spring is in the air! A big branch of flowering pear tree can be easily forced to bloom. I cut it into a few pieces of branch, adding some pastel color flowers, I arranged a Spring like Ikebana to change the atmosphere of the house. (3/22/2014)
Material: Pear tree branch, Mum and Philodendron leave.
Container: I have owned this ceramic vase for 30 years

Same materials but leaves are Anthurium, the stick covered with
some kind of fungi very pretty. (done in class)
Container: Ceramic suipan

March Orchids Bloom

It's hard to believe that Spring is finally here. I am delighted to have my orchids transported to the BCOS meeting without harsh weather like past couple months. These are my orchids for tonight's show table. (3/20/2014)

2014 PHS Philadelphia Flower Show - Ikebana 1

As an Ikebana International member, I was a volunteer for the Ikebana section on last Tuesday. I saw the 2nd round of three days Ikebana display. There were four schools (Ohara, Sugetsu, Ikenobo and Ichiyo) participated. Three days for each term, then, change Ikebana artists and their fresh flower arrangements. There will be the last 3rd round of fresh Ikebana display starting Friday to Sunday, the closing day.
