Spring is Here so is Covid 19

It's Spring time! My surrounding home town is so pretty! On a nice day while we are stuck at home, due to Coronavirus Pandemic, my husband and I like to take walks to the nearby Washington Crossing park.  We are so grateful that our family can chat and see each other through video calls once a week. It's good to know that everyone is healthy and safe!

Ikebana class canceled - Ikebana at Home

The March and April's Ikebana classes had been canceled due to Coronavirus Pandemic. It is possible that there will be no more classes for rest of this year.  Many, many lives have been lost since the outbreak, and people were asked to stay home to avoid getting sick. So schools are closed, some restaurants too, and other activities... I feel so sad and frustrated! My heart goes out to those families for losing their loved ones and their jobs. I also want to pay my deepest respect and sympathy to doctors, nurses, medical technicians and service personals who work so hard in front lines of  this horrendous environment.

This arrangement "Repeating Similar Forms or Shapes" was the assigned subject for Hata Sensei's class for March. Wisteria vines made repeatedly into round shapes and the chosen container suits this purpose. Other materials: Daffodil and Billy ball (Craspedia)

The horse tail grows tall and bends in every direction. I put some
daffodils in it to make an onsite Ikebana (Repeating similar forms or shapes).

Orchids for March

I checked my older post and found out the last time this orchid had bloomed was in Spring, 2016. For four years, it has not bloomed at all ever since. Two months ago, I noticed it started to bud. Now it is in full bloom. I am so surprised and delighted!
