I have been growing orchids for 15+ years now. In 2008, I took my first lesson in Sogetsu Ikebana. For me, growing orchids and creating Ikebana arrangements are my meditation. I created this blog to share my pictures and ideas with you. It is like my JOURNAL and helps me keep track of my progress.

I just realized what a busy schedule I have in June! Besides doctor’s appointments and class lessons. I also attended I.I. Philadelphia Chapter #71’s event for 60th anniversary celebration luncheon, and went to Brandywine Museum of art to check the site, which MainLine branch will be holding an annual exhibition in the last week of this month. I have no mood to do Ikebana during this time period! But it’s time to post my orchids, they are blooming all around from April to June now. Five are Oncidium orchids, only one is Cattleya (Apple Blossom). Some faded and some are still going strong.

My orchids collection have not been flowering like they used to! I know I have not paid much attention to them, and that's the reason for the most part. I devote more time to Ikebana than mending the orchids.

From October to now, three Cattleya orchids have been fading away. But “Xenia” orchid (second picture) has been in bloom for a long while. Gladly, two oncidium and two phalaenopsis orchids are on the way (they are budding). I have a lot to be thankful for, and this is one of them. HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

Today is the last day of the January. When I woke up this morning, the thermometer outside was pointing to 0 degree F !!! We had a major snow storm two days ago, 7 inches here, 30 inches in Boston area!
Today is also Lunar New Year, the year of the tiger. Unfortunately we had to cancel our family members’ gathering celebration because of the snow storm! But my Cymbidium and Oncidium orchids are blooming beautifully and smell so pleasant for the new year to come. 🎉🥂🧧
