Dewdrops on the tree peony leaves sparkled like diamonds in the sun! I am delighted that my two tree peonies I transplanted to my new garden last fall are well established.

Snow Storm Round 2
We have had two snow storms within a week, both had the same pattern — short and beautiful, a winter wonderland! It didn’t cause any problems, and it let us enjoy the pure white, gorgeous scenery again. Besides it’s Saturday! (2/17/2024)

Snow storm Becomes a Beautiful Winter Wonderland
When I woke up this morning, I looked out through the window and wow! It’s snowing! Just like the forecast predicted. The big snow flakes are coming down, accumulating a lot of snow from last night, about 3 inches. The tree branches, the roof, and the road are all covered with snow! It looks like a beautiful winter wonderland! But this breathtaking scenery only lasts a short period of time because the temperature is above the freezing point and the sun is peaking out! PHS Philadelphia Flower Show 2023 (1) - Theme
March 4, 2023, is the opening day for Philadelphia flower show. This year the show moved back to its original site, after a two years' absence due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The theme is: “The Garden Electric!” - “That spark of joy that comes while giving or receiving flowers - this is the moment captured by this year’s PHS Philadelphia Flower Show.”
These pictures were taken during my two hours hosting duty (3/4/2023). (Just a few of many beautiful displays.)

My Journal
My blog is like my JOURNAL, it is in chronological order. During the week of the Philadelphia Flower Show, my husband and I were visiting my son and daughter’s family in Rhinebeck, in upstate New York. Actually, we had a mission 😊! We had been digging up our over crowded plants from our garden, and had almost a vanload of irises, coneflowers, lariope, daffodil bulbs, hellebore, nandina, peony, rose of Sharon, young dogwood, willow, etc., all ready for transportation. Then we drove three hours with all these plants to our daughter’s new home. Everyone helped to plant everything in needed garden spots. It took us 3 days to finish the job. Eventually it will improve the garden’s outlook. Here's hoping for the best. (6/20/2022)

Suddenly It’s Winter
I thought spring is here, but crazy weather makes it winter again! There has been intermittent light rain, flurries, big snow flakes and cloudy or sunny sky. … It’s freezing cold 🥶, just like in the deep winter. My goodness! What a day! (3/26/2022)

First Snow of the Season
Today is Jan 7, 2022. It's cold, but there's no wind, and it's 32 degree F. When I woke up this morning, there were 4 inches snow accumulated on the ground! It's wet snow and looks like a winter wonderland in my backyard!

Epiphyllum Cactus Orchid
This cactus orchid plant has been with me from a young plant to its first time bloom this Summer; it took three years. The flower went from a slightly open to full bloom in two days, and then wilted! This beautiful flower is really short lived. The white “Queen of the night” bloom is even shorter, often blooming at midnight, and when you wake up, it’s gone! (曇花一現)

My Summer Perennial Garden
It’s the first time my day lilies have not been eaten by deers. Finally, I can see how many different colors I have! I often like to use any flowers available in my garden to make an arrangement.
