United We Stand - Celebrate 250 Years National Holiday

Last couple weeks, we celebrated my husband’s 86th birthday and 250 years July 4th national holiday!  Summer is here, we had experienced the first heat wave for few days, one day even reached over 100 degrees F! Relieved by strong, short thunderstorm, wind and pouring rain during our family’s gathering for July 4th celebration dinner. We had fresh, much cooler air the next day!

My Sensei Mrs. Hata - Happy 100th Birthday Celebration

My teacher Judith Hata Sensei is reaching 100 years old birthday this month! A centennial luncheon celebration for Mrs. Hata was held at Nippon Club, NYC, NY., July 10, 2025.  Nearly 100 people came to this joyful birthday celebration party. She is truly inspiring to all of us and we are so proud of her achievements in many ways! I am so proud and honored to be her student! Here’s to 100 years happy birthday card: The people in your life.  The love in your heart.   The  memories and joys in your world.   These are the things happy birthdays are made of. 

The wisdom in your words.   The strength in your spirit.   The kindness in your smile.

The 52nd TAC/EC, TANG Summer Camp

From 7/1 to 7/4, 2023 Taiwanese American Conference / East Coast (TAC /EC) was held at the West Chester University, in a Philadelphia suburb. This is a good location for the east coast Taiwanese immigrants living between Boston Mass. to Virginia to hold a yearly convention.  This organization has been over fifty years since the year of 1970. We are the first generations and we have been passing down to our next generations for 20 years, for continuing to our Taiwanese heritages, identity and traditions. Therefore, the Taiwanese American Next Generation “TANG” was formed.  Now, we hold the event together annually at the weekend of Fourth of July holiday ever since, except the years of 2021 and 2022, due to COVID-19 pandemic.     

This Summer, we drew 700+ people to the conference, not only for families, but also for classmates a reunion, meeting old friends, making new friends and having fun vacation together, and also to discuss or learn all kinds of subjects that suit you. The theme for this year is “Protecting our Homeland: Taiwan and US Standing Together.”

PHS Philadelphia flower Show (5) - Final

PHS (Pennsylvania Horticulture Society) Philadelphia flower show has ended. I didn’t have much time to look around, you actually really need to spend almost a whole day to view! But the exhibit is really beautiful, some just took your breath away! Now, if you would like to view them, you can find it on "Youtube" or their website.

PHS Philadelphia Flower Show 2023 (1) - Theme

March 4, 2023, is the opening day for Philadelphia flower show. This year the show moved back to its original site, after a two years' absence due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The theme is: “The Garden Electric!” - “That spark of joy that comes while giving or receiving flowers - this is the moment captured by this year’s PHS Philadelphia Flower Show.”
